Beau Vigne CULT Cabernet Sauvignon 2023… 15th Anniversary

Beau Vigne CULT Cabernet Sauvignon 2023… 15th Anniversary

Napa Valley, California

If you love a bold Napa Cab, the Beau Vigne CULT Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is one to have on your radar.

I actually picked this bottle up when it was my turn to bring wine for our Wine Club at Trilogy Sunstone… and we can thank Raul, as he was the one who spotted it sitting on the shelf at Costco.

Naturally… we did what any responsible wine lovers would do… we pulled out our phones right there in the aisle and started fact-checking like detectives in the wine section. After a quick deep dive, we grabbed one bottle to try… plus multiples for Wine Club.

Well… fast forward to that evening… we opened it, took a sip, looked at each other… and yep… it was that good. Let’s just say we were back at Costco first thing the next morning, stocking up.

What Makes the 2023 Vintage So Special

The 2023 vintage is called a “once in a lifetime” Napa growing season. Mild weather paired with a long, slow ripening period gave the grapes time to develop gorgeous depth, flavor, and balance… and you can absolutely taste it in the glass.

After the much-needed winter rains replenished soil moisture across Napa Valley, the growing season unfolded at a beautifully steady pace. The extended hang time allowed Cabernet Sauvignon in particular to build rich concentration while still maintaining freshness and structure… which is exactly the sweet spot Cab lovers hope for.

A Little About Beau Vigne

“Beau Vigne,” French for beautiful vineyard, is a boutique Napa Valley winery devoted exclusively to luxury Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet blends. Head winemaker Julien Fayard is known for crafting polished, highly regarded wines that consistently earn impressive accolades from critics and collectors alike.

The vineyard itself sits at high elevation in southern Napa Valley, tucked back along Soda Canyon Road. From this prime perch, it overlooks the famed Pritchard Hill Gap and Stagecoach Vineyard. These wines fall under the Atlas Peak AVA, where the soils are volcanic in origin… something Cab lovers know often translates into structure, intensity, and age worthiness.

And within the lineup, CULT is Beau Vigne’s flagship wine.

What’s in the Glass

Pour yourself a glass, and you will immediately notice the deep purple hue… always a good sign we are in for something rich.

On the nose, expect:

Take a sip, and this wine shows off beautifully. It is plush and layered, with polished tannins and lovely balance. The finish is long, smooth, and elegant… the kind that makes you go back for just one more sip… purely for research purposes, of course.

Drink Now… or Hold (If You Can)

Here is the good news… this wine is absolutely delicious right now.

But… if you have the patience (and I fully respect if you do not), it will reward a little cellaring. Up to about 3 years should do nicely.

Serving Tip

To get the most out of this Cab:

If you are at a wine night and cannot decant, even opening the bottle early helps… and an aerator works in a pinch too (what we brought to wine club for tasting).

What to Pair It With

This is one of those beautiful food-friendly Napa Cabs that loves hearty, flavorful dishes.

Try it with:

Basically… if it is bold and comforting, this wine is ready to show up and do its job.
